Corona infection increased in Jhapa, one week district seal
Infection is on the rise in Jhapa. A joint meeting of DCCMC and Palika chiefs held at the District Administration Office, Jhapa on Thursday agreed to seal the district as the infection is on the rise. They agreed to seal the district for a week to stem the rising tide. Statistics show an increase in corona infections and mortality in Jhapa.
The meeting also directed the local municipalities to keep the isolation center and home isolation center ready for the third wave of Covid control.
“It has been decided to seal it immediately for a week based on the status of the infection,” said Haldiwari village chairman Rabindra Lingden.
The infection was confirmed in 72 people in Jhapa on July 15. Seven people lost their lives that day. The infection was confirmed in 334 people on July 29 and five people lost their lives.
In the last 15 days, more than 3200 corona infections have been reported in Jhapa. Of those, 55 died.
