National Assembly by-elections, Voting begins
Elections for vacant posts of National Assembly members are being held in Bagmati today. Voting has started at Bhutan Devi Secondary School, Hetauda-4.
Voting is scheduled to start at 9:15 am. CPN-UML has fielded Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa as its candidate. Khimlal Devkota has been put forward. Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party (NMKP) has fielded a separate candidate. Krishna Bahadur Tamang is in the fray on behalf of NCP.
Voting ends at 3 p.m. Members of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly and local level chiefs and deputy chiefs of the province are voters. According to Makwanpur District Judge Dilliratna Shrestha, who is the Chief Electoral Officer, three booths have been set up at the polling station. In Booth A, the members of the Provincial Assembly will cast their votes, while in Booth B, the local level chiefs and deputy chiefs will cast their votes.
