The Finance Minister will Announce the Budget from Baluwatar
The government is preparing to make public the budget for the coming fiscal year from the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel will unveil the budget through Baluwatar on May 30. The budget is scheduled to be unveiled at 4 pm on Saturday, according to the finance ministry. Amid rising risk of corona infection, there is growing public interest in whether the government will prioritize the health sector in the budget.
According to sources, the budget is being prepared with an estimated revenue mobilization of Rs 1.15 trillion, Rs 230 billion internal debt and Rs 340 billion external debt. The government is likely to spend Rs 1.09 trillion in the current fiscal year. Based on this, the government is planning to bring a large budget for the coming fiscal year, which will be about 54 percent more than the actual expenditure of the current fiscal year.
