Heavy rains, floods and landslides in various places

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini. It has been raining continuously in different parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley since today.

The landslide caused by continuous rains has blocked the Narayangarh-Muglin road section and Bhimdatta highway. Hundreds of passengers have been stranded due to the landslide.

There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province. Heavy rains are also expected in one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini.

Similarly, thunderstorms and lightning are likely in Lumbini, Far-Western Region and Bagmati. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the far western region.

All are requested to take necessary precautions as the water level in rivers and streams may rise and daily life / transport sector may be affected.
